If you follow the logic of those who seek to remove weapons from the hands of the citizens for nefarious purposes, you can see from this the next step will be mind control
they will seek a way to determine if you will commit a heinous crime in the future and incarcerate you now.
welcome to the twisted mind of a socialist

I grew up around gun's and own several myself....it is so easy to acquire a gun that there is no way to keep criminals from getting one if they want it...if you know anything about firearms even making one yourself is not very difficult. Gun control is a joke that politicians play on the citizens to make them believe that they can make the country safer with just a FEW MORE LAWS! the only thing gun control does is take a viable defense away from the common citizen. More education about firearms would be good. If someone wants to commit murder then not having a gun is NOT going to stop them.

Gun control the way the politicians want to do it isn't the answer. Yeah I agree to needing more proof of mental stability. I own guns, I wouldn't mind someone running a check on me, but I don't plan to go blow some school away. If someone wants to "make a statement" then taking guns away won't matter. How hard is it to find how to make a bomb on-line. How hard is it to mix some chemicals to hide somewhere. Guns don't kill. People Do.

Gun control is directly responsible for the rise of tyrannical governments.
That's why we have the 2nd amendment, it's not so much personal protection from criminals as protection against self-serving politicians.

Gun control only strips law abiding citizens from the right to defend themselves.

Proper gun control would be a deterrant to killings. If you make it harder to own a gun, then some people who would have bought one for murder would be stopped because it is too difficult. I'm not saying that every single gun killing would be avoided, which is impossible, but wouldn't stopping even one killing and saving people from that suffering be enough reason to enact stricter gun control?

Your correct, but you are applying "logic" to a problem that isn't logical. First, how many murders are committed by something other than a gun? Does that mean we will ban cars as well as guns?
I once heard of a person say, to give guns away free, but make it a federal law, to charge $500 per bullet. No matter where in the country you live,...$500 per bullet. People, even criminals would think twice, before shooting anything with the price of bullets that high. And, automatic weapons, that fire 50 rounds a minute? who would even care to own one, since it would cost $25,000 just to shoot one clip.

You cannot prevent a person from going crazy and killing people. But people like this Virginia tech shooter did have a history of mental illness. If our gun laws were better the background check might of been able to discover this and prohibit him from buying a deadly weapon.

You cannot stop the people that have acted normal all their life and then snap. No amount of legislation short of total confiscation will stop it.
