Yep, it was the "Patty Duke Show"! I grew up with her....and I STILL love Patty Duke!!!!
Not long after the show went off the air, Patty Duke took on an entirely different kind of role as Neely O'Hara, a tormented, pill-addicted star in "Valley of the Dolls". If you're a fan of Patty Duke's, and haven't already seen this movie, I highly recommend that you DO! The character is about as far-removed from her TV persona as you can get, and really demonstrates what a great actress she was - and IS! If she didn't win an academy award for this role, she should have.
