I believe the enemy within is socialism, I also believe firmly that classical liberalism is almost dead and what we have today is SOCIALISTS masquarading as liberals, to hide behind a label viewed in a nicer manner than commies.

It's the extreme left that scares me. The ones who believe that we would be better off living as Socialists and having government that governs everything that we do.

We are rapidly progressing from a free society to one that is Socialistic, under the pretense of being Democratic.

As you can see from all the answers, the reason they see liberals this way is because they have an enormously distorted view of what a liberal or "liberalism" is. The kind of people they are talking about describe maybe 1% of the people who call themselves a liberal. It's ludicrous.

Yes I seriously think that.Liberals want to leach of our government and enjoy all of the great freedoms America has to offer but always without any effort.
They want to silence any voice of reason.
First they want to take our money by taxing us till we're all poor,then take away our guns so we're defenseless.They want to destroy the moral fiber of society by banning Christianity and promoting immorality(abortion and gay lifestyles)
Add to that that they want to surrender to our enemies who have vowed to kill everyone of us and I can't look at it any other way.Liberals ARE the enemy within.

Personally I see people as Americans first, democrats and republicans second. We are all on the same team, we just have different opinions as to what America is and should be.

If there was a group of people during world war 2 who were saying we should give Europe to the Nazis and constantly making excuses and/or apologies for the actions taken by the Nazis... would you consider them an "enemy within" or not?

Liberals today are doing just that in regards to terrorists. If they're doing it because they actually support the jihadist agenda, if they're doing it because they hate the US and everything it stands for or if they're just too stupid to understand the consequences of their actions.. it doesn't matter. The end result is the same.

If you look at all the things that made America a great nation, liberalism hates most of those things. Look at all the stuff that liberalism has done for America, and you'll see that most of it has brought so many problems and destroyed the real America and its values.

Liberals, real liberals are not the problem. Most of us are far more liberal than we realize.

The problem is the fact that so called Liberal Democrats or Liberal Republicans are simply Socialists without the guts to honestly call themselves Socialists.

And that my fine friend is the root of the problem, Socialism. And it is the rapid drift of this country into socialism that will eventually cause the collapse or the USA.
