I am not a doctor, but I understand that there are certain illnesses to which each family is prone. If you mix your "mainly healthy DNA" with that of another family, the likelihood that your offspring will have a certain defect will be greatly reduced.
If, however, you mix your DNA with that of someone who is prone to the same illnesses, the likelihood of the baby being born with defects is greatly increased.
Therefore if cousins continue to couple with each other over several generations, then pretty soon there will be only retards, handicapped and seriously ill persons in your family.

Most countries and religions have law against close relative marrying.
UK allows the marriages by law but people are discourage to undertake the marriages and in some local they are required to undergo medical/ genetic counselling before marriage.

I dont comprehend why adult adult males have this of their ideas ,even my husband used to assert he needed to marry a widow ...don't be too cinematic, if u think of u propose in this determination and is from ur coronary heart without the different concept then u can marry a divorcee

It's not a religious doctrine. It's a matter of genetics. Similar DNA makeup offers more opportunities for birth defects. It's just that simple.

There is a chance that the child that could be born would have serious health problems. Why would anyone want to get married to someone in their family? I don't have anyone in my family that is worth it. Alot of drug addicts and alcoholics are in my family and none of them are worth anything.

nothing like that.every religion today quotes science as a valid reason for its laws.no medical issues here.except the blood group issues in pregnancy because they tend to match more in relatives.else every other complication an arsie anywhere, relatives or no relatives.
