There are actually many women out there who love men being intellectual, sharp minded, cultured, well groomed without looking ridiculously "teenage retard like" or looking camp "david beckham like."
Lot of women appreciate a man who behaves like a gentleman, who is well educated, well spoken and can hold a conversation about diversified subjects.
So what is all that fuss about women who are "always" attracted to immature, extremely shallow men with embarrassing laddish behaviour?
I suggest that this has to be a particular demographic of women because to be honest, I dont know anyone who would like to be with a crusty or chav looking, thick, horrible spoken manners, lad mags loving, flash cars loving, only impressed by financial success and tarty girls, boozy etc etc ... Where are the charming and intellectual men have gone???

I have found mostly young women are looking for the bad boys, I don't know why, perhaps more exciting. When they want to settle down then they look for gentlemen, of course, by then many gentlemen are taken. This leads to women complaining that "All the good guys are married".

All I hear all day long is women whining about being mistreated, lied to and cheated on. These men get drunk, or do drugs, spend the rent money at a pool hall, slap the woman around, and behave like apes.
The women, fed up, leave these guys in a drama scene worthy of the OC, and within weeks have picked up another loser--ignoring a dozen "intellectual" and "well-cultured" guys in the process.
Always? I doubt it. But there's enough truth to it to make the cliche make sense to most people.

Bad boys are usually the attractive ones.Also there is something about getting involved with the rebellious type.There is a hard price to pay for having these types of guys.Not all women fall for theirsmooth lines and great hair.I too would like to see more men in this world with manners and gentlemen.Girls today need to know that respect and love go hand in hand.

Yes, there are women whose selection characteristics are as you describe.
But there are also a helluva lot who - despite in some cases having a stated preference similar to your description - are suckers for a bad boy anyway. There are reasons for this that go back to our jungle ancestors.
Furthermore, they will grant an appropriate bad boy a degree of liberty and tolerance that they would never allow anyone coming in the front door, so to speak.
It's instinctive. It's genetic. It's beneficial to the gene pool.
And it's damn convenient.

You sort of answered your own question there. Apparently, the thrill of bad boys beats the flimsy promise held out by pretentious guys who fall short of true intellectual, and charming men, who are mostly gay.

I think it's rooted in the fact that women are more inclined to salvage bad relationships (i.e. I love him even though he's cheated on me 10 times), not necessarily the "bad boy" image. Just follow Yahoo Answers and you'll find plenty of anecdotal evidence to support that.

I agree. There are women who like guys with the attributes you describe. I have heard the same thing from women who claim that guys are interested in "bad girls".

Maybe it's because tough guys are considered sexy in the movies? But i'm with you... i like guys with a brain in their heads. Stuff being with people who are going to be disrespectful or stupid - life is way too short for that.

You're right bad boy's do get more women, but I don't think that the women REALLY like them. I think they just like someone that is opposite of them and someone that challenges them. (personally I think they're crazy) but each to his own. I guess opposites attract.
I don't like bad boys, why would I like someone who would treat me bad. That's just crazy.
