I think it would be a much better system than what we have in place today. It would obolish the IRS.

I think that a national sales tax (fair tax) is an appropriate way to tax and probably the only real way to tax the wealthy.

ADDED: For people who believe the IRS and accompanying tax attorneys, CPA's and other tax professionals cannot be gotten rid of, that is just sad. An outmoded institution that cannot be gotten rid of by Constitutional means? I think it is possible.

I absolutely support the fair tax! And, I think that everyone who does not know what it is all about, should research it and find out! One of your respondents made the erroneous statement that the system we have is just fine....I have to ask him....Just fine for whom? I certainly do not think there is anything even remotely fine about it. It has been an evil, unconstitutional fraud against the American people since its inception in 1913! Any one who wants to learn everything they can about the history of the federal reserve system and the IRS and the income tax, should watch Aaron Russo's documentary...America from Freedom to Fascism! *sm*

yes, it would A-bolish the irs as we now know it...not a bad idea but it will never happen...once a gigantic government bureaucracy like the irs is established, that's it baby...game over!...it will take a nuke, not a new tax system to get rid of it.

but i DO like the fair tax solution...

"Fair Tax" is a highly orchestrated attempt to color normal people's opinions into thinking that it is, indeed, fair.

Which, of course, it isn't.

The only thing "fair" would be to tax the crap out of corporations which have ruined the air, soil, and water of the entire planet for a profit.

Now THAT would be fair.

It is the only solution to our current bloated, incomprehensible income tax system.

There is no such thing as a fair tax.

The current system we have is fine. We can change it every election cycle so we can make sure it is as fair as possible.

Ps. Sales taxes favor the wealthy, since they save more of their income than the lower classes, they pay a much smaller percentage of tax vs. their income.

I totally believe in the fair tax. If people would find out about it, they would relize how good it would be for them

I agree 1000%.

Now, if we could just get someone in Washington to promote it.
