There is no comparison, firefox is 100 times more powerful. There are a few things to consider. The add-ons are what really makes firefox cool. Remember though the add-ons are written by the public, some of the add-ons are not tested well.

For this reason, do not DL firefox and then install 50 add-ons. A poorly behaived add-on can make firefox crash prone. Find some you like and add them one at a time and run that way for a few days.

Other than that, you may occasionally need IE for a web site the is heavily reliant on IE-specific features.

add-on's I recommend are
adblock plus
downthemall
fasterfox
forecastfox
tabbrowser preferences

I prefer Firefox and Opera to IE, even though I do have to use IE at times to update my Windows and stuff. I am really impressed with the configurability of Firefox, and the speed and security of Opera.

I am using Firefox coz its faster, and much more attractive than IE, since you can change its theme by going to www.mozilla.com.
IE7 theme with many tab's were copied from Mozilla Firefox. Still IE7 slows down your pc speed. Some say that Firefox doesn't support embedded java and stud. You can add it in your browser by going to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7
It has so many plug-ins & themes & extensions which is far more useful than IE7.

I also say that "jibbarjabar" is totally out of her mind whos is losing her marbles from her head thinking that IE7 is far more better than Firefox.

Firefox is good but like everyone has said, there are lots of websites where some of the embedded java and other code just doesn't work right with it, so that's when you go back to Internet Explorer.

Firefox isn't overrated, it's simply another anti-Microsoft option that happens to be just a little bit better.

Mr jibbarjabar's above me "Firefox Myths" debunked:

The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team recommends you not use IE:
"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE domain/zone...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/713878

IE uses Active X and Microsoft says it can be extremely insecure:
"An ActiveX control can be an extremely insecure way to provide a feature...From the moment a user downloads an ActiveX control, the control may be vulnerable to attack "
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/components/activex/security.asp

This test will show you how easy it is to steal your ID if use IE
http://secunia.com/Internet_Explorer_Arbitrary_Content_Disclosure_Vulnerability_Test/

Here are their security records side by side you will see that no browser is perfect, but IE is the least secure browser you can be using:

IE supports webstandards horribly, try this test with all your browsers to see for yourself

WMP11 runs on your laptop, so that you would possibly want to open a media report and run it with media participant on firefox. Firefox is likewise a safer browser so that you at the instantaneous are not as liable to viruses even as surfing the information superhighway. that is more advantageous positive to apply firefox because of the small updates, swifter surfing, and safer.
