If it was fast before then it can be the result of a virus, spyware, malware,
or it can be coz of too many temporay files, try clearing them,
It can be of heavy fragmentation of C drive. Try defragmenting the HDD. ( works most of the time )
If you're running low space on C Drive this can also be a huge problem, Keep atleast 1GB + free space on C drive.
If it wasnt fast before & you want to speed up you may have to upgrade your RAM,
Cheers

First check for virus, if you dont have an antivirus program installed then yr inviting virii to yr pc. Go to http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp for a free online scan. Its a thorough and free service by Trend Micro. If yr running Windows XP make sure all yr updates are installed. If none of that fixes yr probs, then do a tidy up of yr computer files by deleting cookies, temporary internet files and temporary files, this can be done thru start programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup. Another prob can be the hard drive needs defragging which again is in system tools, leave this option till last cause it may take some time. Clean up yr desktop, if its cluttered it will used excess memory so if u have a lot of icons there create a folder to put them into by right clicking on the desktop and create new folder then drop the icons into that, you can have several folders for different things such as word apps, games etc.

1) Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com ) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.
2) Check that you have a least 10% of your hard drive free. Go to My Computer and right click on the Local Drive (C:). Look at the properties. If it has less that 10% free space, you will need to delete some files, or move them off the hard drive and on to a CD or DVD. Start by running the disk cleanup, which will remove temporary and other unneeded files. Go to Start, then All Programs, Accessories, then System Tools and click the Disk Cleanup icon.
3) Run the msconfig utility. Go to Start, then Run and type in: msconfig
Go to the startup tab
You will see a list of all the programs that are loaded when your computer starts up. Uncheck any that you do not have to have. (Usually you can uncheck them all). If you decide you to need one, you can go back and recheck it.
4) Defrag the hard drive. Go into My Computer and right click on the Local Drive (C:). Select Properties and go into the Tools tab. Click the Defragment Now button to start the defrag program. If you have not defrag recently (or never) it may take several hours for the program to complete.

There are several primary areas that could be causing your computer to run slow. The most likely reason is that Corruption within your registry keys, registry classes, and registry settings,you have too many programs running behind the scenes and your system is essentially running in circles with its internal processing.
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries.To clean the junk and then speed up your computer, you will need to run a self diagnostic program called regsitry cleaner.This program is very very useful,it can fix regsitry errors,clean registry remnant,corrupt files and temp files in a few minutes.Then give you a bran-new and high-speed computer.It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!You can find top 5 registry cleaner here:
http://www.computerspeed.info/index.php?t=cspeed ,From there you can download and scan totall FREE.

First uninstall any software you no longer use, and delete any old files.
Then run Ccleaner, use the ISsues tool then the Cleaner
http://www.ccleaner.com
Check your anti spyware is up to date and run a scan.
You need all these anti spyware programs;
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5 - AVG anti spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
Plus;
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
If you find anything switch off system restore and scan again in safe mode.
Defragment the hard drive from Start - programs - accessories - system tools - disc defragmenter. Leave the pc while it runs.
Use Winpatrol to cut down the software that loads on startup. Leave the essential stuff like Windows and your security software and stop stuff like your office suite.

PC slowing down is caused by too many programs and video games also appliances. What you should do is delete any programs that you dont really use. Dont have a screen saver but leave it blank. Dont have too many security software because they will use up more energy. Run a registry cleaner which will remove any invalid files.

Did you ever evaluate that in line with probability you're speedier because you're basically greater healthy ordinarily than you have been in the previous you began training in Tai Chi? in line with probability practising Tai Chi has positioned you in greater proper shape than you would be in any different case, i be attentive to that once i became into on holiday journeys and not working I positioned on weight inspite of doing greater training by using fact i became into interior the homestead with the refrigerator somewhat of at artwork with set lunch hours. in line with probability status around doing fifty slow punches keeps you out of the kitchen whilst doing ten punches at a first rate p.c.. can provide time to raid the refrigerator. in straightforward terms a concept.
