Bettas will very rarely fight to the death and will usually only beat each other up enough to cause stress and disease problems. Doing what some others have suggested and what you want to do is nothing short of animal cruelty. Please stop asking for advice on how to mistreat and abuse your fish.

Bettas are naturally aggressive in the wild. They naturally fight un-occasionally and only for a few moments before one will retreat. Is it morally wrong to fight bettas? It is all cultural opinion and ideas. If it is legal, there is not much you can do but wine like a child about it. Whether or not you believe in evolution, current bettas come from strong genetics. Time after time these genes have proven to be successful. Bettas in captivity do need to be conditioned because most ignorant people keep them in small jars with cold water. You can do some research and find training conditions. Thanks!

You can't train them. You can, however, not feed them for a while and it will become more agressive towards other fish. Get a big beta fish and don't feed it for a few days before the match.

like a beta?

well theres two ways, one is you can put a bunch of smaller betas in the tank st seperate times and then when he gets used to fighting he will be ready for one that has no fighting experience and is just as big as him
other way if you are unattached to the one you have is battle royalle, buy like 9 really big fish and get the champion, he's a natural born fighter
