an important colleague?

Abu Ayyub al-Masri
BAGHDAD — Iraqi officials have received reports that the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq was killed by Sunni tribesmen, but the chief government spokesman said Tuesday the information has not been confirmed.

The statement by spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh followed a welter of reports from other Iraqi officials that Abu Ayyub al-Masri had been killed. Iraqi officials have released similar reports in the past, only to acknowledge later they were inaccurate.

U.S. officials said they could not confirm the reported death.

Al-Dabbagh told Al-Arabiya that word of al-Masri's purported death was based on "intelligence information," adding that "DNA tests should be done and we have to bring someone to identify the body."

I can see em now . A purple banner , draped over the top of his picture . In walks Pelosi and Reid wearing black veils . Reid is crying uncontrollably and Pelosi is offering her assistance and tissue . They both genuflect in honor of their lost hero and then are overheard muttering Al Akbar over and over . They both sign the courtesy registry book and see the note written for all who cared and it says . . . "Please send Donations to Al Queda in lieu of flowers " . Later , they gather at a luncheon to discuss what a fine man he was and to plan further attacks on the evil infidels who would do such a terrible thing to their very close friend . Oooooooh the humanity !!

Thanks, that is hilarious. I love it when the socialists can only respond with hate bush, hate the war. They can NEVER come back with an argument based on fact or truth.

Each advance in the war on terror is seen by the enemy within as a great setback, it is why they hate fox news so much, fox reports the positives as well as the negatives.

There are so many positives everyday in Iraq, we are winning, not as quickly as I would like but after all, the good guys and the bad guys all look the same so it is hard to just go in guns blazing. I read the milblogs a lot, that is where you will get more truth about what is going on.

both communities have it basically 0.5 accurate. I say, throw the lot out. this finished "Yay, team!" mentality, in which electorate ignore the undesirable (yet basically on 'their' section) to get a particular baby-kisser in, is in simple terms terrible. i have met gung-ho republicans and yellow-canine democrats, and neither team looks attracted to listening to about their team's complications. This 2 social gathering crap sucks. Take off the blinders, human beings.

It is indeed sad that while he hated them as much as he hated the rest of US; Reid, Pelosi, and the other Communists in Congress have helped his cause more than all the Sewer Side Bombers he sent out !

Sounds like we should take out our troops and let the tribesmen fight AlQaeda in Iraq, they are doing a good job.

A moment??
They will ask for a national day of mourning for this.
They will want our flags lowered.
They will talk about what a great leader this jerk was, and blah blah blah.
Good news for the rest of US, IF it is true. Let us just hope it is.
