Why is it called public hair, though it is purely private?
What is the use of it? Is it not a nuisance while.....................?

its called pubic hair (not public), because it develops when you hit puberty. if it develops before hand you got a hormone problem. scientist believe that it may be left over from the day when humans produce pheromones. the scent glands would have been located under the arms and around the genitals. the hair their would have helped trapped the odor and help arouse members of the opposite sex when the smelled it. FYI humans currently don't produce any pheromones.

It is called pubic hair, not public hair.

The purpose may be related to a sort of hairy lubrication, or it may have something to do with sexual attraction or identification, or maybe something completely different.
