GURL, it sounds to me like he is digging you. I know that's not the way it seems but I think he feels just as awkward and shy as you do when you come around him and men don't want to show that kind of stuff so he just chooses not to deal with you. That is my answer unless you are stalking him and he wants you to leave him alone, but i really think it's the first one.

If he's normally quiet, then maybe he's just shy, and more so with you because... he has a crush? Either that, or he accidentally saw you doing something nasty/weird/psychotic and now can't look at you directly. LOL. (Hopefully it's the first.)
Just continue to act friendly. He'll come around. And if not, and he does happen to have some sort of aversion towards you, then don't push it. Give him his space, and get on with life. No matter how good a person you might be, there's always someone out there who's bound not to like you for little or no reason. That's just life, lol.
Good luck.

Generally men who are "scared" of a women are attracted beyond the "oh she's hot" momentary thought. I have been told by many a man that I scare them--and the reason is because they know that they could fall head over heels in love with me, because I have the look, the personality, the smarts and the financial status that I do not NEED a man to survive, and a lot of men do not want that type of deep emotional attachment. It doesn't sound like this guy is scared of you, it sounds like he is shy, and maybe thinks that you are out of his league or wouldn't give him the time of day. Try approaching him, casually, and friendly at first. It sounds like he is not the assertive type, if you are interested then go for it and make the first move.

he is afraid of a commitment. Be cool and play around. Ask for for some small help (something he can do) and start the ball rolling.

Maybe you gave him a bad vibe. Leave him alone and find someone else that's not scared of you. Poor guy.
