Hey, Just a few questions..
My 5 month old baby has a cold alot of snot and what not. I have a slight feeling her mouth and throat are sore. What can you do for a cold and she hasnt eaten since 1:30 this morning??
She is on solid foods right now. I have fed her sweet potatoes and she loved them. I mix it with Rice or Oatmeal Cereal. She has also eaten with the cereal peas, she did not like them, bananas, apples, pears and peaches. She like bananas, pears and the pre made cereal with apples.

You could try giving her Tempra, and try to get her into see her doctor.
Tempra is safe for a baby of almost any age...My doctor recommended to me after my 2 month old got his shots. And it is an over the counter med.

Unfortunately, there is no over the counter meds to give her since she's too young. Consult your pediatrician first but you may be able to give her tylenol to help with the pain. For my children when they were very young, I would elevate the head of their crib by either putting a few books underneath the crib legs or a large pillow under the head of the mattress. Don't elevate it so they're sliding down but enough to ease their breathing at night. I also would use a cool mist humidifier and some vick's baby rub. Some infant saline nasal drops (without medication in it) can also help clear out some snot as well. As for eating and fluid intake, it's going to be decreased because she is sick but as long as she's eating and drinking some, don't worry! And if there's less going in, there's less coming out! She should have a bowel movement in a couple of days. But as always, call your pediatrician.

If she is on some form of milk (breast or formula) and is taking that but not solid foods, she should be fine as long as the cold doesn't get any worse.

There isn't much you can do for a cold. As long as she isn't having trouble breathing and doesn't have a high fever, you'll just have to let it run it's course. If breathing problems start or her fever gets above 101, take her to the Doctor.

Make sure she gets lots of fluids.

Hope she gets better soon.

Take her to a pediatrician, they must prescribe medication for your baby, don't take people's word over the inter-net on what you should give your baby. We don't know what and if she is allergic to anything. Don't fool around with a cold, 5 months old is pretty young, it can settle in the ears and then you would have a child with ear infections and more of a health problem. Once again, take her to your pediatrician.

Did you extremely advise to declare your infant gets 6 oz. of rice cereal 2 circumstances each and every day? Or, is that a typing errors and additionally you meant 6 Tablespoons? At in straightforward terms 5 a million/2 months, 2 servings of cereal plus 2 jars of commercially arranged food is amazingly lots. i think of she could be lots greater proper off with appreciably much less solids and greater nursings. in the process the 1st year of existence, a sprint one gets a good element of their on an universal basis nutritional desires from breast milk (or formula). Solids are frequently provided as a complement and for prepare transforming into to be acquainted with tastes and textures. It does not sound as in the journey that your brother's female chum became into being nasty, yet somewhat is in touch and attempting to be effectual. Unsolicited propose may be unwelcome, yet each now and then that's good to a minimum of evaluate what the guy is asserting. in case you and your pediatrician are comfortable including your infant's length than you are able to the two forget approximately approximately your brother's female chum or basically deliver an email thanking her for her difficulty, yet you have been in touch with Ellen's wellness practitioner and he/she isn't in touch. larger than ordinary infants frequently have worry transforming into to be cellular so Ellen won't lose her extra weight for awhile. in case you haven't any longer spoken with the wellness practitioner with regard to the quantity of food to grant her, i think of which you need to to double verify that because it does sound like an extreme quantity for this form of tiny tummy.

She isn't getting enough fluid, probably as you suspected, it hurts her to swallow. She needs to drink, more than eat. Give her more bottles, if she will take them, even juice in her bottle.

If she won't eat much solid food, she is too sick to have an appetite. Take her to the doctor ASAP!!!

It sounds like you need to take her to the Dr. mama. If she's so bothered that she can't eat & she isn't making good wet diapers you will have to take her in [or at the very least call your Dr.s nurse]. I hope your little one gets better.

Give her tylenol if you think she's in pain and make sure you put saline drops in her nose and suction her nose right before you attempt to nurse her. If she continues not to you want to contact your Dr. You don't want her to get dehydrated. It's so hard when they're sick, I know, I have 3. Hang in there.

I don't know if she is breast or bottle fed but I would give her a bottle or the breast even if she only nibbles. You don't want her to get dehydrated. Also you could always call and check with her doctor.
