Why would they think that you were gay:
1) you have a wife
2) you are both still sleeping with each other because she still has underwear nice enough to wear. If you werent sleeping together she would stop buying nice underwear and you dont want to be wearing big baggy pants.

Why would you tell your friends something like that anyway? I guess it's your choice but I think some things are just personal. In answer to your question, while this is kind of unusual sexual play it's not unheard of. Most men are uncomfortable discussing such things and find it easier to throw the word gay at it instead seeing it for what it is, just play.

Try wearing them on the outside of your clothes, it saves a lot of explanations because people avoid you. It works for me!
