Like most of us, Eve made decisions based on what she saw, and not based on what she was told. You will see this theme repeated throughout the Old Testament.

Eve did have faith in God.She was seduced by the lies of the serpent. But it comes down to God giving us all free will.He gave us free will to let us make the right decisions or the wrong ones.Eve chose wrongly and because of this she had to pay the consequences.Adam chose wrongly also.He did not have to follow Eve's choice, but love does strange things, like cloud our judgment.

The question is not why Eve doesn't have faith but why humans don't. The matter of faith is not a male or female issue but a human issue. Looking at the story in Genesis, Eve may have been the first to disobey God, but certainly not the last. Adam was more than willing to chomp down on the fruit. Remember both Adam and Eve walked and talked with God. To them it wasn't a matter of believing that God is real but it became a matter of believing and obeying the instructions God left with them. Humans today struggle with the same dilemma. As those who don't believe in God, may not really trust His instructions, and those who do believe, are selfish and disobedient. The Story of The Garden of Eden shows Humans can be selfish and thoughtless even to the God that made them.

Eve never lost faith in God, in my opinion she did what she was supposed to do with her free will, she asked a question and then following the probverb (God helps those who help themselves) she found out the answer on her own. Life is never all sweet and rosy, God (parents) want to shelter us from harm, but without chaos and strife, we could never find courage, honor, valor, empathy and compassion.

Looking at some of the answers above, I wish to insert one small remark here, people. God DID NOT tell Eve about the tree. He told Adam, before Eve was even created. It was up to Adam to tell her, which he apparently didn't stress enough, so the whole thing of women being to blame....get real. And also, when God asked why they did what they did, what was Adam's response? "She did it, she did it!" Some man!!

It wasn't that she didn't have faith in god. Rather that she was overly curious! The serpent promised all knowledge, and she was tempted.

In Greek mythology, the first woman Pandora, had the same shortcoming. Her curiousity led her to open the jar which released all the evils into the world, bringing an end to the Golden Age in which men lived in paradise-like ease.

So in both the Bible and in Greek myth, the first woman's curiousity was the cause of the fall of mankind.

It's not a question of faith,Eve saw God every day she knew he is real, the question is why didn't she listen and I guess it's the same reason kids do not listen to their parents today we all think we know the answers to everything and no one is going to tell me what I can and can not do.

it wasnt about faith. It was about obedience, just like Satan who disobeyed God by not kneeling before Adam. God is Almighty and All knowledgeable. He has this all planned out, to sieve the believers from the non-believers, the obedient and the rest.

Eve was a human and she wanted to be able to be God. Just like today she had an ego. This was something the serpent had not counted on. His plan was for her to follow him, instead she decided to go her own way. Things haven't changed a bit when it comes to the human race!

they needed a story in the bible that would make it look like women wernt at the same level as man. Thats why Genesis was one of the last books written in the old testament.
