ALL athletes are paid too much. And it is because of these increaingly high salaries that most of us can no longer afford to attend home games, let alone fly out to view away games.

That leaves the games attended by the hard-core determined fan that causes so much trouble, and makes the country look bad internationally. If these people don't care if they leave their families struggling to put food on the table because of their obsession with the sport, why would they care about the property of others, who live so far away from their own homes?

If you drop the salaries of the players, and drop the price of admission tickets, you end up with a majority of ordinary citizens attending football games...ones who would no sooner storm the pitch to hurt others and themselves, than they would burn down their own homes because they didn't like the colour of the emulsion on the walls.

What is too much?

My belief is that anyone, athlete, engineer, or any professional that is an expert in their field, is worth as much as he/she is paid.

As long as an organization is willing to pay a certain amount, that is what the person's skills are worth.
