I would like to know what is apparent about it from its appearence?

All chevy V8 engines were marked on the intake manifold with the cylinder numbers and the firing order. The odd cylinders 1 3 5 7 were on the left and the even cylinders 2 4 6 8 on the right. They were in numerical order from closest to furthest.

Um small block or big block. also intake manifolds, valve covers oh by the way alot of 350's look just like the 305's to the untrained eye.

It is hard to tell chevy small blocks apart.... the 350 was painted orange.... like most of the small blocks.... all you can do is take down the block numbers then try to cross refernce them.
