I started Spanish classes 3 years ago and now I don't remember everything and I thought to continue with the books what I still have but I kinda can't force myself to do it coz I am not sure if I could. Any day soon, I'll try but now I am just too busy with work. I already speak 3 different languages so they don't come too difficult for me. Will see how I do by myself.

I've decided Hawaiian would be fun, and work on that when I get the time. Not that my kids let that happen too often.
I also tried German, but that was a tough one.
I learned just enough before going to visit a friend there.

I relocated to South Texas, and thought, "Hmm, time to brush up on my high school Spanish".......but it turns out, the language here is mostly Tex Mex, or "Spanglish", and it's a slangy adaptation of proper Spanish. So, most of the folks who are of hispanic descent but were born and raised here can't understand the folks from Mexico, and vice versa.
I'm finally starting to pick up on it, but man, it was frustrating at first! : P

I learnt French by ear in that I was an aupair in a French speaking family but I didn't take classes.
Now I'm trying to teach myself Italian, mostly from listening to conversations (my fiance is half Italian) but also from books, though I tend to not study too much!

Yes, it ends up with just knowing bunch of words; you need to practice language to learn it.
something else you can learn the basics through some courses, like passing the beginner level then you work alone to improve it.

Yes! I tried to learn Japanese, German and Spanish. I know some words of the first two, but I've now totally forgotten the Spanish. Never had to use it I suppose. But I use German more than the Japanese.

I have done some "brush up" work on foreign languages and was thinking about learning Swedish at home. It makes me kind of sad that Swedish was allowed to die out in my family even quicker than German was. My great-grandmother for some stupid reason didn't want him to teach us Swedish. How sad is that insecurity?
