Pianos are the basic intruments for the education of people who wants to learn music. Although it is true that no one cares about them anymore, but every musical instrument we use small or big, has a slight touch of the piano. Like the keyboard, it plays music in a mordern way, but the WAY of playing it is the same as playing the piano.
People may like pop and rapng and rock, but they couldn't have learnt how to do that without the piano! So, if the piano disspears, the world of music disappears along with it!

How to become a master piano player in under 5 minutes: 1. Find a piano 2. Crack your knuckles and massage your finger joints 3. Turn the piano away from your audience, so they can't see you 4. Put an iPod or CD player rigged up to small speakers with a recording of a famous artist such as Yo-Yo Ma in the music stand 5. Press play and mime like crazy as if YOU are the one playing the music, not Yo-Yo Ma! 6. Oh, and don't forget the tip jar!

Doubtful. Even in pop music there are some amazing artists that play piano well...John Legend, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, and on and on....The problem lies with the record companies. They look for acts that appeal to the widest possible audience and unfortunately that seldom leads to promoting the most artistic performers. That's why less and less of pop music is about making good music and more about dancing and bursting with sexuality.

No pianos won't become extinct...nor will books, or grass that is not plastic, or babies made the original way, because those things are valued for many different reasons by many different people.

No. Pianos may be endangered, but there are moves afoot to freeze their DNA for future generations of musician to enjoy. Putting the 'pop' back into 'popsicle'.
