The Hayabusa was the fastest production bike in the world. After that, the Japanese bike builders all agreed to a set limit for top speed because the bikes were just getting too damn fast for the street.

However, some of the smaller companies, like the Boss Hoss as mentioned were not part of that agreement and could easily be faster. Some of the independent companies building big bore V-twins are worth looking at too, but those are not sport bikes and don't handle corners terribly well.

The fastest motorcycle holds the official record of 350.885 MPH. The record was set by Denis Manning on the BUB 7 streamliner. It is powered by a 3000 CC, 425 HP engine custom built for this application.

According to the Australian Motorcycle News Magazine, The world's fastest Streetbike is the MV Agusta F4 312 with a claimed top speed of 312km/h.

If you are referring to production models, then the Boss Hog is the fastest. It has a 350 cubic inch engine Chevrolet small block on it, and can be seen at the website below

As for custom built ones, they have one with a rocket engine on it, that was tested at the Bonneville Salt Flats, in Utah.

For a few years, it has been the Suzuki Hayabusa. But the Kawasaki ZX14 is rumored to be even faster.
