I'm in my mid-20s now, and my PMS symptoms have gotten worse over the years, most likely because obviously my stress levels have also increased as I got older. It's to the point where I am extremely weepy and can't sleep because I stay up thinking about my "terrible" life, but the other 3 weeks of the month, I'm as chipper as can be. What in the world can I do to help this? I already work out, and it DOES help, but only temporarily!

You could try taking B6. B6 is very good for helping the mood swings that comes with PMS. You can find it in a bottle by itself or as part of B Complex (other B Vitamins). You can find it at Wal-Mart and other drugstores as well as The Vitamin Shoppe (you can order online as well).

OMG I go through the same thing. About a day before my period starts, I completely break down and cry about how terrible everything is whenever I have a great life......husband can now look past this and rest assure it only happens once a month :)

I know that you can take Zoloft and other SSRI's to help this problem but I don't think your case sounds that extreme. I would just take a vitamin everyday and a week before your period starts, take a Dong Quai pill every day. Those help me out quite a bit with cramps.

Oh boy, sounds like me. I wish I could return to the days when I took my Nordette and was footloose and fancy-free with the periods. Now, sliding towards 32, I can't tolerate estrogen to save my life, and I have to take pills to regulate my unreliable period, and so everyday has become a Lifetime Television movie.

Get your hormones tested, and see where you're deficient. You may be suffering from an imbalance, which seems right on time for women our ages (ugh). A doctor can diagnose a Vitamin B deficiency through a hormone test as well. Good luck to you, I'm crying right along with ya!

Oh Lord, do I get weepy. The question is am I ever NOT crying over something whenever I'm Pmsing. Now whenever I cry over anything whatever time of month it is my husband says are you pmsing? LOL even if I just had my period and he knows I'm not, it's like a joke between us. I think it's perfectly normal. And it only gets worse honey as you get older.

I had the same problem...I would cry over television commercials!. I have talked to friends with the same problem. I would take (starting about 3 days before my cycle) an over the counter anti inflammatory ( like Aleve) and throughout my week. It seemed to help because it reduced fluid retention. I asked my Dr. if this was alright and he said it was a good thing to do. I tried the herbal teas etc. and it really didn't do much for me. Hopefully this helps. Good luck.
