Souls are a religious concept and not a scientific one. By definition it is the "immaterial" part of a person. I take that to mean that it doesn't exist. It is probably a concept used in ancient times to explain how a person works, before we realised that the brain is responsible for this.

Sorry, the soul is an outdated explanation for the difference between living and nonliving things.
The real differences between living and nonliving things can be found in biology and organic chemistry. Not magical hoodoo junk.
The claim that 'scientists' have measured dying people and found they got lighter when they died is technically false and deliberately misleading. There was one fellow who made a profession of trying to detect the parting soul upon death, but his findings were inconsistent at best and no one has managed to reproduce them.

They exist on an etherical level and not a biological one. Dying people have been weighed and actually lost a fraction of an ounce after passing over.

No. If it did, it wouldn't be a soul, but souls can react with the physical world, and probably resides in the head, reacting with the brain, electrically.

No. Biology is science and looks at evidence, not wishfully wanting to live forever.
The person who answered that souls have weight is wrong, wrong.

The soul is the outer shell of humanity... it is the part of he flesh that the outside world sees..... It is but a shell and shall perish because it is flesh.....
On-the-other-hand... the spirit.... is the hidden portion of man.... it is given control of life in dreams......Man must sleep, just as man must die... the body lays down its life, so that the sleeping portion of man may live... and so we dream......
the spirit is the image of God... just as God is spirit...... it is the the body... the spirit is.... because it is the only portion of man that is eternal........ .Consider the mind is constantly aware, constantly in thought.... constantly in motion.......
