Jay, dude, you are so right. I am a big time coward hippy. Every time a cop car drives by my mom's house I flush my stash, you know what I'm saying? But why aren't hudreds of thousands of righty boys and girls lining up to fight Bush's war?

He's all bummed cuz he doesn't have more for his surge or invading Iran. Are you guys getting tired of the war thing, or you just like beating up hippies on discussion boards, whic h is cool too, cuz just like the troops get a leg blown off or something, you could get carpal tunnel in your thumb.

See, that's what's wrong with this whole scenario. This is America's war, not Bush's. The terrorists would be just as happy killing you as they would anyone else. When they charge into your neighborhood with guns blazing do you really think they're going to look at your peace sign or your bumper stickers, or ask to see your voter registration card? No, I think they'll but one right between your running lights, just like they will anyone else. truthfully, they prefer libs because they don't tend to fight back. Makes it easier to kill 'em.

This war was not started by Bush. The resolution authorizing the use of force was passed by Congress, not only that but another resolution making regime change in Iraq MATTER of National policy was passed and signed by President Clinton. Don't talk if you don't have an idea of what the truth is.

We are an all volunteer force and will remain that way. When we draft we run the risk of getting undesirables like we did in Vietnam. The last thing we need is a bunch of pot smoking hippies who haven't the guts or the fortitude to fight for their country.Let the keyboard warriors stay at home protesting or ask stupid questions on yahoo questions. And anyone with any sense knows a liberal hippie is not worth the time to try to train to become a real American.

Why would we need a draft, the Military is meeting its recruiting goals 100%.

The Democrats in Congress would have to pass a law to increase the size of the Military before any of the services could recruit anymore people.

I'd say the Repubilcans already are enlisting.

You don't believe the anti war Democrats are enlisting, do you?

Don't know if the Republicans support the draft but my fellow Democrats Charles Rangel does. He has an active bill on the floor to reinstate the draft. You can read about it on his web site (link below).

They are scared of some boogie man in a cave. They are not going to volunteer to fight in Iraq's civil war.

Perhaps you should ask Charles Rangle (D-New York)

I think that you would be surprised to find that most would volunteer instead of being drafted. They are the ones with the sense of duty, remember?
