Im doing an assignment and trying to piece together some bits of information. I know that during (or maybe after???) Australia figuared they wernt a part of Europe....but a part of Asia. I dont really understand why this happened. I know it happened soon after Australia changed allies from Britain to USA.....

Can anybody help me puzzle it together??

Thank You.

Australia has never been part of Europe- Europe is on the other side of the world. We are still part of the Commonwealth which comprises of countries formely part of the British Empire. Don't confuse the Commonwealth with Europe because they are completely different.

Australia is a continent alone and seperate from Asia. We have never been part of Asia. Australia is often considered part of Asia for sporting competitions such as soccer but this is only because there is very little competition here.

Lastly, we have been allies with Britain and the U.S.A for many years and this has not changed nor will it change in the near future.

Goodluck with your assignment.

curiously, New Zealand became into as quickly as area of the British Colony of recent South Wales (this is a factor of Australia). Th is now no longer the case. New Zealand hasn't been area of Australia because federation. we've distinctive flags, via the way, we've very distinctive accents (ask a clean Zealand an Aussie to declare 'fish and chips' and additionally you will hear the difference right this moment away). they don't have kangaroos. maximum of NZ flora and fauna incorporates birds, super and small, by using fact of it is island nature. Australia, on the different hand, has lots of marsupials (animals with pouches), to boot as our fashionable platypus, which has a beak, lays eggs, suckles it is youthful, and swims. it is form of like an animal designed via a committee.

It is not a part of Asia, it's like "Australia and Oceania" itself. But recently it has become obvious that Australia have a tight partnership with Asian countries. Nothing strange here 'cause it's essential geographical cooperation.

I always thought Australia was in a category by itself, it is a continent by itself (including New Zealand). I don't think it is part of Asia.

Well if memory serves me right, it was part of the super-continent Pangea. :-)

Australia was never part of Asia.

It's a continent comprising the mainland Australia and other surrounding islands included.
