he should not have sent them to Iraq. Iraq was not involved in 911. he should have stayed after Osama, who was actually behind 911. but bush did not do that, instead he went after saddam because he had put a hit out on bushy boys daddy, and now he is friends with Osama again

there were many things that led to bush's entry into iraq. whether saddam had wmds or not, he sure was trying to make us think he did and had been running the UN and inspectors around for years. also, saddam's links to terrorists, their training and funding have long been well established. did you watch any of the newsreels of the iraqi people's rejoicing after 9/11. much of that was staged by saddam. just as the same rallies were staged in iran.

part of the problem is that you are listening to the rubbish off the streets. i don't know how old you are, but perhaps, you don't have a long frame of reference due to your age and therefore, you're dependent upon others for your opinions. i don't mean that as an insult in any way, but you did say you know little about politics.

the american long term memory can be nonexistent at times thus, when listening to your collegues you're getting only a piece of the history behind why Bush moved into iraq or, a slanted version or, most often, people's views based upon only what has happened this month, week, today or, even worse their conjecture and 'theories.'

i would say that despite all of that, you are on a good path when asking yourself, really what has Bush done wrong. what other choices has he had? would lying dormant really be a better solution to the events of 9/11? what further strikes would have taken place otherwise, we will fortunately never know.

i would never make the assertion that Bush has made no errors, but i do believe that doing nothing would have been his biggest mistake.

when evaluating the 'news' off the streets and even in the media, keep in mind that we are facing the presidential election season. democrats are desperate to re-gain the whitehouse and their best way of achieving that is by discrediting Bush's efforts and policies. unfortunately, it greatly affects their outlook and with only one goal in mind at this point (winning on election night), their opinions are at best slanted.

i encourage you to visit here often. you will see both sides of the story. you can evaluate the postings for yourself and draw your own conclusions. you will find that Bush has a lot more support here among the public than he does in the media.

good luck in all your convictions.

I do not know much about politics either that is why I come here...so I can learn...and what I have learned from reading here is, we sound just like the media. If you are a Republican you say what the Republicans say, because they are of one mind, one body and one soul.
If you are a democrat you speak your mind on any issue no matter who said it or who wants it.
After being in here I still do not know what I am politically, but I do know taxes are too hight, there are too many taxes, there are too many people one walfare that do not want to get off be cause they can make more money on welfae then at a low paying job, gas is to high, the need for something besides oil is way over due,
(OH yeah that is right there is going to be now...just this year they made things that will not have to have oil to run them...wow how did we get so smart in one year???
( I know we could have been useing it for years if the oil companies would have let us, but now that the oil company has thought of it ,,, POOF !!! we are going to have it..
.I am still trying to figure that one out.

Their people must have stayed up all night making the things in show at that oil convention)

I love this freedom I have, I support our troops, I am against any war that is not fought for freedom and I am Proud to be an American woman. Now what does that make me...a Republican or Democrat?

your right...bush picked up a buckett of worm's from clinton, most have forgotten that !bush is doing what clinton should have done !!! this won't be the last war or president, and the same stuff will happen I'am happy we are over there if the democrats have it there way, the war will be right here in the united states, which would not be good !!! I back our troop's over there, and they want to finish it....not run away...I did vietnam and we will have lost 4000 troops for nothing as we did in vietnam, except we lost 53000 troop's in nam.....so we need to stay and fight ! or will be right back over there.........

You need to do more research. Keep in mind that most of the news you read is fed to you by a biased media that does not like Bush. The war in Iraq is not about oil. It is about keeping the terrorist out of the U.S. There are things that the President can do but he certainly can not do it alone. We now have a Congress controlled by left wing liberals who only see the Iraq war as a tool to re-gain the Presidency. Their failure to support the war effort is harmful to our troops and emboldens our enemy.
The next election will be terribly important to this country. I fear that if one of the Democrats gets elected, they will do nothing but surrender to the terrorists and endanger all of our lives and freedoms.
