When immigrants come to a city, they tend to associate with people from their home country (language and culture.) Sometimes, to avoid prejudice, the new immigrants work for established immigrants in their companies; learning how to do the job well, it is not surprising that when they want a business of their own, they think of buying the same franchise. No Indians here in my northeastern state working in Dairy Queens; however, other immigrants that fit this pattern.

We have one here in Northern New York and it is totally owned and operated by American locals. Must be you live in a transient town or city.
