"Trigger happy" Have you ever been in a position to face a person with a weapon, I have, several times.
I have never had to use my weapon. I have been scared enough to sit down a shake to pieces thinking how close I was to take a human life but, I wanted to go home after work. My wife and kids were waiting for me, once my wife was scared to death after hearing a news report.
Yes, I chose the position, to help and serve the public, not to be a target. I also was trained to make sure I was right before pulling the trigger. There was no one to stand beside me if I was wrong, no State or Federal government. I had to make the decision and then, live with it. Or try to.

I've seen more then several men loose their jobs because they were in a hurry to "pull the trigger" but, what constitutes this is the fact that he may have seen something I didn't like, a bright flash of a pen, a flashlight, something that resembled a gun like a water pistol but, the blame still lies with the policeman for "pulling the trigger" and he's open to lawsuit.
I choose to wait, maybe until it was to late. While protecting you, the citizen, I choose to risk my life and wait or, take the blunt of blame and shoot to soon.

If there is another way, do you have the answers, that I may go home at night and sleep?

I no longer do this work, it's too risky, let someone else be a target and answer your questions like this.
The next time you need help, instead of calling 911, call a gang member to help you, see how fast he'll come. Or call a cop that will risk his/her life to help you.

Because they don't like to be shot at and the first to die, often they are to lenient and should shoot more often, maybe the bad boys will get the message, back in the 30's--50's they would shoot at a moving vehicle if it was a bank job or similar, not chase it for 8 hours winding all around town like they do now endangering Innocent lives......boom its over, got that one out for good..saves tax payers money also..

Where are your statistics on that remark? Police put their lives on the line everyday. IF they need to draw their weapon, it's for a reason and they will required to justify it. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I don't think they are at all. With so many individuals running around acting crazy, they sometimes have a split second to make a decision.
I for one would not want to be in their shoes at all. I think they are doing the very best job they can at keeping the peace in a troubled society....just my opinion.
