Nobody could make you feel inferior if you don't let them to. Think of it as a compliment, he meant that you're a special lady. The way he said it could tell more that the word itself. If he spent the time and energy to come to you and saying that to you, he must have meant it in a positive way, don't you think?
So you should be pleased and then feeling back to normal. So that you don't get used to receive compliment. You can compliment yourself every day, just in case you didn't get any compliment then you won't feel sad or you have to expectancy for it.

I'm pretty sure it's a compliment, at 10 most kids aspire to be random! Unless you really are a bit odd in which case he's probably just being perceptive, kids have a knack for that.
