HI FRIEND,
4 UR KIND INFORMATION, U.S.A IS PLAYING CRICKET BUT IT WAS NOT SELECTED FOR WORLD CUP'07.
BUT MOST OF THE AMERICANS ARE NOT INTRESTED BECAUSE AS FORMER AMERICAN PRESIDENT ONCE SAID,
" CRICKET IS PLAYED BY 11 IDIOTS AND IS WATCHED BY OTHER 11 MILLION IDIOTS."

America has soo Many other "interests" in the world mostly in middle east that it has no time for cricket......And Thanx God they are not in cricket ! lol, how racist i am !!
They prefer Baseball and Soccer and actualy what i have heard from some Americans that cricket is a long game and they can't waste the whole day watching it ...!and for such countries ICC has introduced 20-20.......becuase it ends up soon.... ICC is trying to make cricket recognised in US, and China and have held some matches there at some level !but it would take longer time for them to like this game and take interest in it !! once they start taking interest then there is a possibility of making a team...a and once they get a team then it would definitely flourish there.....but these are very long term plans...and ICC has started it just few months back!

Cricket is a game originated in England. America as a nation was born as a group of people dissented against the British Empire. So obviously, they do not want to take to cricket. Lot of technicalities involved in the game. They don't have time for this.

Americans find cricket too slow and time consuming.Even Football, according to them is not speedy enough.
However, it is not true that Americans are totally disnterested in cricket. They have a crikcket team and Mr.Abid Ali-former Indian pacer used to be their national coach during the late nineties.I do not know if he still is.

Americans have an attention span of about 3 seconds so obviously cricket wouldn't work here although I've heard a number of Indian immigrants are now playing cricket here.

haha money making? cricket is the second most popular sport!
hey, i live in the U.S. and love cricket...then again, my family is originally from the Indian subcontinent...
some people do play cricket but they're usually immigrants from places like Bangladesh and England...
i find it soooo annoying because there aren't any TV channels that show cricket...you have to order PPV packages on TV (with Dish only) or internet (if you have Comcast like me)! Americans are busy with their sports like American football, basketball, baseball.

Personally its never been explained to me. I've read it but it has never been shown in the States. I saw one match last year but it was from like 1998.
I think it is too much like baseball and we find baseball to entertaining. We're still struggling to find soccer entertaining. I personally love soccer and wish i could see more. I wish i could see more aussie rules football, that looks intense.
