Okay, time to cleanup this line of crap... Good lord this is a bad set.

First, BMW is the fastest at speed. The BMW is capable of the fastest speed easily, over 160 mph. Hands down, no contest. I, myself, have driven my 328i to 150 mph on back roads. The BMW excels at high RPMS, so its 70-100 is faster than its 0-60 mph time. This is why the BMW shines on the Autobahn. Now both the Audi and Mercedes are both also made for the Autobahn, their suspension set up is not as good as the BMWs, so putting power to the road isn’t quite as efficient.

I will however say that both the Mercedes and Audi are capable of beating the BMW in a 0-60 time. The reason I said that the BMW is capable of the fastest speed is because the way the car is set up, weighing ALL the factors. The BMW is the lightest out of the Mercedes and Audi, and has the highest Maximum Torque at High RPMS (allowing it to accelerate well at high speeds.) It is also the most stable. I own a Mercedes and an Audi and the BMW is far more stable at speeds.

The competition gets more difficult when you compare the Audi RS4, the Mercedes E55 AMG and the BMW M5. The AMG easily out accelerates all, it has a supercharger, and the Audi pulls ahead in questionable road conditions such as wet or icy or snowy. The M5 excels everywhere else; the AMG gets lost in the corners and curves due to the air suspension versus BMW’s coilovers. The BMW on the Nurburgring, which is the most demanding racetrack in the world, will decimate the Mercedes, bringing serious competition to the Audi, which will lose due to the weight of the car and the lesser handling qualities.

The BMW is the ultimate driving machine hands down. Both German marques are close, but no cigar. I have not mentioned Lexus because it just isn’t fair. They are fast; they have very poor handling and just can’t work with the Germans worth anything. However! There is hope, the Lexus IS-F is quite possibly the best Lexus ever made and is essentially a German M-Car or AMG Division work from Lexus. This car hasn’t come out yet, but I predict it will perform somewhere between the BMW and the Audi. They are very nice and very sporty. I expect great things.

Now, the Americans. The Corvette, contrary to answerers on Yahoo! Answers simply doesn’t make sense. Okay, you dropped $72,000 on a Z06 Vette, which is a coupe, and I dropped $75,000 on an E60 M5. What’s the difference? The 0-60 time of a Corvette is 4.2 seconds, the M5 is 4.5. The M5 is a massive car, with 4 doors and a trunk that can fit 5 golf bags. Who got more for their money? I mean really!

The Cadillac is even worse, although far more practical. I was outside of Essen on the Autobahn back in March and I was in a 550i (rented) and my friend had his CTS-V, the CTS-V was unstable, uncomfortable and generally unpleasant, while the BMW was a joy to drive. I’m not saying this parochially, but the Cadillac is made for cruising, not for the Autobahn. I love BMWs and Z06 Corvettes are really cool and serious competition, but American Cars simply can’t compete. Now if we were talking Porsche....

Fastest or QUICKESST?? there is a DIFFERENCE! Since the AUDI comes from the VW grop who ALSO owns BUGATTI ( the FASTEST) and LAMBORGHINI and BENTLEY< they are MUCH FARTER AHEAD! Any Audi can EIASILY be trensformed ino the RACE CAR it was derived from! The BMW and BENZ are maxed out pretty much when you pay their ENORMOUS PRICE TAGS! YOu can take an AUDI ALLROAD QUATTRO from 202 and add a CHIP that raises it's power band to over 350HP frmo a 164 cid engine! THAT is VERY EFFICIENT! NO OTHER CAR has QUATTRO or SOUBLE ALL JOINT suspensinos! AUDI WINS in nearly every race it enteres in EUROPE or even in PIKE's Oeak even wuith TURBO DIESEL engiens, and they ALSO even win in AIRPLANE RACING as well! The BENZ models are STILL a bit stodgy with NICE FEATURES! What people DON'T KNOW is that ALL THREE are supplied by the SAME COMPANIES! They ALL USE ZF transmission, and ZF steering gear! The AUDI has always been a more progressive company and he AUDI A* body only weighs 550 LBS as it is constructed from ALCOA AMERICAN ALUMINUM! i HAVE OWNE3D one OF EACH, FROM DIFFERENTYEARS, AND THE OTHER ONES deteriorate A BIT MORE QUICKLY! tHEY CONSUME more gas EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE all bosch injected WITH THE EXACT SAME TYPE OF INJECTION SYSTEMS AND ignition SYSTEMS! audi HAS USEED five valve PER CYLINDER TECHNOLOGY since 2000. It has simply MORE POTENTIAL and can be MAXED OUT more easily! I have serviced them ALL at one time or another, adn the AUDI LINE_UP wil NOT RUS EVER< and is made fromt eh FINEST materials known on this planet! NOTHING can outhandle them and they rate NUBMBER ONE in my book of cars! They have introduced MORE TECHNOLOGY more QUICKLY than the others, whcih are MUCH SLOWER to change! Check out the movie RONIN ,e.g. They can run an AUDI QUATTRO UPHILL on a highly slanted SKI SLOPE and NO lose traction at ALL! The "FEEL" of an Audi is UNSURPASSED. and has MORE FUN for the $$$ than the other two have! They ALL SHARE in the EXACT SAME TECHNOLOGY at the EXACT SAME TIME! E#ven th4 SEATING all comes from the SAME SUPPLIERS! Same for BRRAKES< trannnies, steering systems and electronics. IN GERMANY they all work TOGETHER to make the FINEST CARS possible! NOHING comes close to the AUDI Q eries SAV cars either! GOOD LUCK!!

It really depends. But I would say Lexus is the slowest, followed by Audi. Yes, there is the Audi R8 and the Audi Le Mans Quattro, but in majority BMW's and Mercedes-benz's cars are faster.

In my opinion, if I were to buy a BMW, I would buy one of the BMW M3 series, 7 series, X5 or 5 series' cars . However, if I were to buy a Mercedes-Benz, I would buy one of their Kompressor edition cars,or the SL65 AMG, the CL65 AMG ,SLK K4 Brabus , or the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

But if you want to buy one of these cars, then I suggest you enough money to buy the car itself and some more money
later for maintenance. The amount of money needed for maintenance is outrageous, so unless the car is sponsored , I suggest you become a millionare first.

But all that aside, the straight forward answer would be that the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren would be the fastest car.

The BMW M5 V-10 is the fastest from these manufacturers, but the Mercedes AMG models are a close second. We are talking acceleration, because they are all limited electronically on top speed as stock.
Audi has the new R8 which is not a big car but is very quick too.
Lexus has not yet shown us a car in this league, they major on refinement not ultimate sporting performance.

All these guys except Lexus makes very small amounts of limited edition high performance cars. They are usually very expensive and unrepresentative of the average sale of their brand. For example, a BMW 323 is a slug that will get smoked by an Infiniti G35 or Cadillac CTS which put a fast engine in their base models. So on AVERAGE, a G35 or CTS is faster than a 3 Series.

Of course a Chevy Corvette ZO6 will blow even the expensive limited edition Germans into the weeds for $thousands less.

Theres mny options. I personally drive an M3...its a blast to drive, looks slick and is pretty damned reliable even at 85k+ now.

I would say Lexus is at the bottom of those 4, then Audi.

Its a matter of tatse between Mercedes and BMW.
