Solve x - 2y = -4 for x by adding 2y to both sides.

x = 2y - 4

Now replace x in the second equation with the expression 2y - 4, so it becomes:

y^2 = 2y - 4 + 3

Combine like terms. then move everything to the left side of the equation.

y^2 = 2y - 1

y^2 - 2y + 1 = 0

Factor this and solve for y.

(y - 1)(y - 1) = 0

y - 1 = 0

y = 1

Now that you know y, plug its value back in an equation and solve for x.

x - 2(1) = -4
x - 2 = -4
x = -2

So your answer is x = -2 and y = 1.

When x = 0, y = - 2 gives (0,- 2)
When y = 0, x = 4 gives (4,0)
Intercepts are (0,-2) and (4,0)
