We went to Vegas for a few days whilst travelling around California and Nevada, stayed at the MGM Grand and loved it.

Our little bloke was only 6mths old at the time. Hotel provided a cot, we had our own stroller, high chairs at every restaurant. No problem.

If you intend on both of you spending a lot of time on the gaming floors together, then that's a problem. If you are prepared to tag-team it, no drama.

All the hotels have their own experiences, but the MGM had the lion enclosure just off the main floor, a huge pool area with floating toys and stuff, and Max loved the lights on the strip at night.

Also, there is the Belz outlet mall just up the road, which we spent hours and cash at, and it had little rides and stuff for kids in one part of it (may pay to check that out via the Belz site before you go).

Check with the hotels for creches, times of operation and that kind of thing too. We didn't use them, but for your two year old, they may be useful and fun...

Enjoy your vacation.

As a mom to 2 kids (6 & 3) and someone who recently went to Vegas, I would say that is a big fat NO. Although it seems like there is much to do there - it is not centered around kids at all. I wouldn't dream of bringing my kids there until they were teens...and thats a maybe. Remember - everywhere you go smoking is allowed and in some areas there is A LOT of smoke. Also - there is a lot of walking. Sure you can take the bus or a cab but that gets pricey everytime a 2 year old gets cranky. Notto mention - if you walk down the streets you are going to be bombarded by groups of people trying to hand out cards for strippers/escorts/etc and they are not censored and they do lay all over the ground. I'd love to explain that one to my 6 year old. While we were there we stayed at the NYNY - but we visited the MGM, Bellagio, Cesears, Aladdin, etc - the whole time all I could think of was I'm glad we did not bring the kids. Go to Disney - you'll have more fun!

NO.

It's more of a Disneyland for grownups. There's a lot of drinking, gambling, and other debauchery that most people don't want small children exposed to. Many shows are inappropriate for children - several don't allow children under 5 years old in to them. Even those that are "child friendly" might not be suitable for a 2 year old - some of the sounds might be scary. Many restaurants aren't suitable for a small child - and the lines for the buffets can be absurdly long and VERY trying for a little kid's limited patience.

Go somewhere else - like real Disney or something like that. Sesame Place and Hershey Park in PA are really good for the younger set.

We didn't take our little girl for the first time until she was three, and she had a ball. >She still does and she's 15 now<

For LV attractions, I'm sure you can find one or two things to do.

Fun stuff with the little one
Forum Shops at Caesars Palace >FAO Schwarz, Disney Story, Warner Bros, etc

Lion Habitat - MGM

Animal Habitat - Flamingo

Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat & the White Tigers - Mirage

Shark Reef - Mandalay Bay

M & M World >cute movie

Fantasy Faire Midway - Excalibur>they treated our little girl like she was a little princess there, she just loved it.

The Lied Childrens Discovery Museum>the 4th largest childrens museum in the world, they have a hundred or so hands on exhibits for the kids.

The hotel swimming pool will probably be a popular spot.

These are my favorite free spectacles in LV
The Fountains of Bellagio
Fremont Street Experience
Masquerade Show in the Sky - Rio

What we did when she was little, was bring our own babysitter along(cousin, grandma, friend). We would split up time "being" entertained(the adults that is)

Just as an option, these are great places for the kids.

No, a good family vacation with a 2 year old would be some where like Disneyland or the San Diego Zoo. Or you could go to Branson Missouri. Its like the Mormon version of Las Vegas.

No. Las Vegas is an adult vacation destination. They have tried to make the city more "family friendly", but it's still an adult playground.

Not unless your idea of a vacation is spending it in a hotel room with a 2 year old. If you go there, that is what will happen. You can't bring the kid into a casino and it is unlikely that your husband is going to stay in the room with the kid while you go to the pool or to the casino. It's a really bad idea. Bring the little kid to the grandparents and enjoy your trip by yourselves.

As much as you would like to have your child with you, you will enjoy Las Vegas much more if they stay at Grandma's while you are there.

PS: NO ONE under 21 years, including toddlers, is allowed in the gambling area. They can pass through, but can not be around the tables.

u cant gamble, drink, or pass to golf equipment.... yet theres a very good kind of different issues to do in vegas, basically walking around the strip is alluring in itself, different than that theres a million diverse shows, theres even some unfastened ones, theres curler costers, yummy buffets (the mirage one is my fave), great procuring, i used to pass there w my kinfolk plenty, and now that im older and pass with acquaintances its a very diverse adventure yet the two reviews are relaxing of their very own way

Yes. There are sooo many attractions, shows, shopping, dinning, rides, pools, etc.

Oh & I took my son at 8 months old. He was fine. I took him in the pool, to the restaurants, shopping & in the strooler while we visited the sites. I didnt even gamble, b/c they dont allow babies, but it was good. He loved the rainforest cafe & all the light shows, etc.
