It depends on which rights you are speaking of.It is never right to take and animal from the wild unless you are highly experienced yet look at all the questions here about baby birds, rabbits and eggs.By doing what some see as a humane thing they are in fact doing the wrong thing.Yes animals deserve to be treated just and fairly yet define those principles. Not knowing anything about the parenting of a species many people take in good conscience the young thinking them to be abandoned.Only to find out they do not know how to care for these animals and they either die at the hands of people or get sent to an already over crowded rescue facility.Animals do deserve rights no doubt about that.Yet these rights should have limitations. Not against abuse but more over the purpose of the animal.Though dying your Pekingese's fur pink to match your outfit of the week I believe should befall under animal abuse section.Killing a cow to consume it I do not see as abusive.Yes the deed should be done in a quick of a manor as possible to prevent prolonged suffering.Still death is never pretty, even when it is the vet doing it.I hunt, fish and farm,so I am accustomed to an animals death.I once had a dog which the vet ended up having to put to sleep.I stood and watched as he injected the dog with this humane concoction,I can honestly say the death this dog endured was no quicker then a bullet to the head.In fact it was longer.Yes animals need rights and protection though this is one mighty fine thin line.

There's HUGe job creation possibilities in creating stronger law enforcement for animals, all it takes is eyesight and strong will (no bribery to look the other way).
The UK and Scotland's SPCA have stepped the mark up, why does the worlkd not follow suit?
I do not condone the wrist-slapping the world dishes out to animals merely cause they do not speak, that's such a huge sign of pure inhumanity, we are their only protection, after all, but also their worst enemy.
We need an Animal Justice League!

NO,
put it this way: if a cat was found killed in the main street would there be a murder investigation?
I know people who have drowned kittens and bagged the mother cat. I don't know of a law against that.
Now think what would happen if any of those happened to a human being. ????
NO Animal rights are NOT protected enough!

NO! people that abuse animals and get caught get a slap on the wrist by the judges. Therefore, they continue.
A man in our town tried to butcher a cow in his backyard and didn't know how to kill it. It suffered terribly and the court gave him community service.

No. The rights of animals should be as strong as the rights of children.
Animals can not speak for themselves.
