You would think liberals would have more respect for Walmart since Bill and Hillary Clinton put Walmart on the path to becoming the largest retail chain in the country.

Hillary served on the board of directors of Walmart for 4 years.

Bill Clinton rallied for China a seat at the WTO and gave China "most favored" trading status with the US.

Thanks to the Clintons, a home state corporation has been able to become the largest retail chain in the United States, and China has been able to use Walmart as their own personal distribution network.

So what gives?

your question is both informative and well put.

my liberals friends are always raging about wal-mart and glorifying the clintons simultaneously. (sometimes, you wonder why you even have friends, if you know what i mean.)

thank you for the information.

Obama's wife serves on the board of a food distributor that distributes food to Wal-Mart, among other companies. And yes, Obama has criticized Wal-Mart for its "unfair labor practices."

You know, I like Wal-Mart. Maybe some people can afford (or don't mind wasting their money) on coffee from trendy cafes or clothes from overpriced boutiques, but I can't and won't. "Home grown" doesn't matter all that much to me. Any company, whether big or small, is looking out for its bottom line: profit. Maybe some people feel a personal connection because the owners are members of the 'community,' but they're more interested in their 'profit' than their 'community.' That's why I'm looking out for my bottom line, too.

Don't like how much Wal-Mart pays? Neither do I. That's why I don't work there.

It's because Wal-Mart destroys small businesses and good jobs, replacing them with boarded up town squares and low paying part time jobs.

It happened to my home town, San Bernardino, CA. It happened to my friends town, Fayetteville, NC. It happened to my sisters town, Lawton, OK.

Sure it's great to get a good deal on something, but I think it's kind of stupid to trade low prices for good jobs, a healthy local economy, and self respect. And I don't think it's beneficial in the long run to for us to continue to spend our money to support the economy of China.

Besides, don't those big box stores make your town look like a cheap ghetto?

P.S. Most liberals don't give a s..t about Hillary. You might not want to waste your time.

I think libs try to come in with the innocent whole "we're just protecting America by fighting the companies that most hurt it" routine. Any issue that can further fuel their anti-capitalist, pro-union, pro-environmentalist views goes well with them and many big businesses make a great target for them like oil, and pharmaceuticals.

They are like the proverbial prosecutor that hauls in an innocent rich white guy to court to make it look like they are taking up the cause of Americans at the lowest levels, when in fact they could care less about them, and more about the vote with fake concern for them and vested hatred in selected businesses that serve to be a good strawman for their cause.

hillary left wal mart in 1992...Wal Mart's woes started in the late 1990s with low wages, poor working conditions, inadequate health care, as well as issues involving the company's strong anti-union policies. One of Wal-Mart's biggest issues is their high turnover rate – approximately 70% of its employees leave within the first year, primarily due to lack of recognition and inadequate pay. The whole "don't work there if the job sucks" logic is utterly ridiculous. If every corporation applied that logic the US economy would tank.

Wal-mart sells a lot of products not made in America and especially products made by third world countries...it short circuits the system of family jobs in America producing quality products...and is to a large degree selling Chinese and other foreign products made by people earning a few dollars a day. If this continues, there will be no American able to buy anything...Don't boycott Wal-mart, but try to buy quality products. I bought some steaks from Wal-Mart the other day and checked the ingredients (in was perfectly red in vacuum sealed packages) and it contained meat flavoring and other preservatives...the same steak bought at a small grocery chain contained 100% meat...be careful what you buy at this behemoth...they are more concerned with their profit than with your health or well being.

It's because the Dems support Labor Unions and Walmart does not have Labor Unions so I say let the libs and dems pay higher prices, I'm shopping at Walmart.

its because the lib politicians dont want the poor to move upward, such as working at walmart. they want to take care of the poor. you know, hand out food, medicine, homes, clothes, and so on. if something like walmart comes along and gives the poor a job some medical benefits and somewhere to spend their money stimulating the economy, well then, whats left for the libs to do? THEY want to be the ones to tell the poor people what to do. they dont want them to have a mind of their own! thats why....

Because it has to be Bush's fault. I mean according to any liberal isn't everything Bush's fault???
The lib's hate Walmart because they are successful and don't have Unions. Beside's they gotta have someone to hate and blame or they would have nothing to talk about. After all you never hear any solutions from a liberal, just hate, blame and venom...
