Cosmetics don't "damage" the skin (though you might break out if one's not right for you) but how you apply them can. For instance, over agressive tugging in the eye area (where skin is thinnest) will age you more quickly.

Two important things to remember: SUNSCREEN of at least SPF 15 all the time, and more expensive does not always mean better! Nowadays, most cosmetics share the same active ingredients and the "special" or "exclusive" (i.e. expensive!) additives are just fancy sounding fillers that don't do much.

I highly recommend that you read "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me" by Paula Begoun (get it from the library before your next makeup shopping spree). Not only will you be able to find reviews & chemical analysis of specific products, but you'll really learn what's worth splurging on. I still spend way too much at the MAC and Chanel counters, but at least I know what I'm getting (or not)!

it only damaged skin if you don't do anything to wear as a protection before you wear your makeup. If you have large pores you can breakout easily because pores get cloged by makeup build up and other debris. So make sure to have a really great product with great formula for your skin as protection. If you are at a young age you should start caring for your skin now before you start to look old. Sun is the number one enemy for skin. causes skin to look old and feel old if not protected. You must cleanse and tone and moisturize twice a day and everyday. check out this site about skincare and see if you can learn a thing or two at an early age so when your 30 or 40 you'll look way younger than the rest of your friends. =) http://www.artistry.com/en/skincare/the-science-of-skin-care-10613.aspx
and these are what I use to protect my 25 year old skin.

Actually, some makeup contains sunscreen which will protect your skin. You should, however, wash your face throughly each night to remove any trace of makeup. Left on, it will clog your pores.

Yes depending on how much u use make-up. Foundation can sometimes give u pimples especially if ur foundation was old. As long as u remove ur make-up and wash ur face, it will not damage ur skin.
Just try using new and expensive make-up and not old and cheap make-up so then ur skin won't get damaged.
