You will need to learn the following:
1) Basic Programming patterns. You can use any .NET language to build ASP.NET pages. I advise you to start with C# since this is the most in demand and most of the resource you will find are in C#
2) You will need to learn how web applications work. I'm talking about the way web pages are served to clients in general.
3) You will need to learn HTML. HTML is not a programming language, but rather a markup language, meaning it enables you to place display elements on a web browser. It is nice if you know some CSS. This is not necessary in the beginning though.
4) Once you have a clear understanding on points 2 & 3, you will need to learn how ASP.NET works. You should understand what ASP.NET controls are and how they are rendered to HTML.
To help you, you can attend Microsoft Training courses in an institute near you. They can give you a good jump start.
I have been working with ASP.NET for 2 years now, and for the whole period I never stopped reading and sometimes I wonder how professional my code is. So "Professional" is a very vague word.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what your aptitude is in programming.
If you have existing web programming experience, then learning ASP.NET is not that hard, I'd say a couple weeks to a month may be possible.
If you have NOTHING, then I'd say you need an intro to programming, intro to web programming, THEN finally, ASP.NET. Altogether, may take you a couple months or a semester. And even then, I've known people who simply don't "get" it.

I was actually learning about just Sun Signs and synastry between two signs when I was 11. You can learn a lot about the 12 signs by doing all that, really! I learned about birth charts around the time when I turned 13. I was confused at first, but I just used the internet to look up everything I wanted to know. I would consider myself a beginner, I know the basics of everything in a birth chart(except all the asteroids that don't have many websites like Sedna, Varuna, Orcus etc) but I can't explain something in professional detail. Astrology is just a hobby, and I don't exactly plan to make it into a career, but I am very intrigued with everything. I probably have lots to learn and remember, but no rush, I have plenty of time :)

it depends on your past programming experience. If you have knowledge of JAVA or VB.NET then its a 1 month course.
