My girlfriend and I started having unprotected sex on april 7th. Since then she has been having some weird things happen kind of. She thinks shes pregnant. The past 2 days her uterus has been hurting. Also she just started her "period" and I say it in quotes because I dont think its her period. Its about 5 days early. We took a home pregnancy test about 3 days ago and its negative. Is that to soon to take it? She gets heartburn after the weird uterus pains. She kind of has tender breats and a few other little symptoms like being kinda tired more, tad bit more mood swings, and irritable. What would you think? When should we test again?

There is a possibility considering that it has been almost a month since you have had unprotected sex... wait until around the 7th of may or even a week after that and try to take a test. My sister had similar symptons to these and took several tests, all were negative. If they keep showing up negative try going to the doctor and have a urine or blood test done. They should be able to spot the pregnancy hormone this early. I do wish you both the best of luck. By the way, don't pay attention to people that criticize you for what you are doing. Its very common and everyone has different beliefs. I don't know how old you are but I don't think you sound stupid, I've known of women having "pelvic" pains when they pregnant. Also, if your not planning to be together, @ least support her and the child and do whats best for the baby.

she might not be pregnant. i recently had a crazy pregnancy scare. i skipped a whole period because i was so worried that i was pregnant. i was having some of the symptoms, which just made me freak out even more.
it could be that she's just worried about it enough that she's noticing the things that usually come along with her period and it seems like pregnancy symptoms.

to calculate the day that she would have been ovulating, try this website. you can find out if you had sex when she would have been fertile. there is about a 7 day time in the cycle where you're most likely to get pregnant.

best of wishes to you. oh, you dont have to be married to have a baby...marriage is the system's way of sticking it to you...do what you want, but be prepared to face the consequences.

if you make the choice to have unprotected sex, you better start picking names because it won't be long until you do end up pregnant.

First of all my husband and I were not married when we had our son,so forget what those other woman are saying, its not like we live in the 50s where it was bad back then.Anyways I have 2 kids and I know it takes longer then 3 weeks for it to show on the pregnancy test. When my husband and I where trying to get pregnant with out daughter,it took 3 months before i was pregnant with her.Try to retest in about 3 more weeks. When we where trying I would test a least once a month.Hope this helps a little.

When was the first day of her last menstrual period? If it was about 2 weeks prior to April 7th - then you might want to take another test in a week or so... BUT, if she's started her period, why would you think she's still pregnant? Is it very light or gone already?

Tell your gf to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility so you two can start charting so you don't knock her up. Test again in a week. But, she could have gotten her period early. You BOTH should read the book, stop having unprotected sex (it's BOTH OF YOUR LIVES in each other's hands, and seriously....ewww STD's), and maybe stop having sex in general. If you can't deal with the consequences and ALL of it's possible repercussions (from having a baby, to putting it up for adoption or having an abortion) then you should not be having sex.

I wouldn't get all worked up about 5 days, and uterine pain and heartburn? Unlikely that it has anything to do with 3 weeks for unprotected sex. Perhaps she should consult her primary care physician? They can perform pregnancy tests and answer all of your questions. :) Just be safe!

They appear like periods only. Or there may be some infection or wound on the cervix. Signs of pregnancy do not come so early in such varied forms.

Any way to be on safer side you can repeat the test, for your satisfaction only. I do not think there is anything.

She might be worked up thinking she is pregnant and her body is tricking her into having symptoms.
It probably is her period, even if it is early. She might be irregular or sometimes they just switch schedules. And if it is her period, that would explain the breast tenderness, tiredness and mood swings. All classical signs of menstration.

nope don't sound pregnant to me all of her symptoms are consistent with a normal period so i would wait a little while longer like a month or so and take a test then.

Umm...I say do not have unprotected sex. If you are doing that, you are asking for a pregnancy. Unless that is what you want, stuck to the pill and condoms. Unless you want a baby. If so, then congrats!
