so he asked me to look it up on here since i'm the only one who offered to. can anyone help me out please??

Neopia is a strange little planet. Its gravitational acceleration at its surface is exactly 10.0 metres per second per second, and its diameter is exactly 2100 kilometres.

Also, a completely unrelated fact, aliens are able to consume about 0.4 kg of pretty much anything they want to eat, every minute, nonstop.

Assuming that the density of the planet is uniform, and that orbiting bodies don't significantly affect the planet's gravity, how many years will it take one million aliens to consume one cubic kilometre of Neovia? Please round up to the nearest year.

The key to this is to apply Newton's law of universal gravitation to get the mass of the planet. The gravitational acceleration, g (10 m/s^2), at the surface is G·M/r^2, where G is the gravitational constant 6.67300 × 10^-11 m^3/kg·s^2, M is the mass of the planet, and r is its radius in meters (2,100,000/2). Solve for M. Then the density is M/V (V=4/3 πr^3). Calculate the mass of a cubic kilometer of this stuff. Divide by the mass a million aliens can consume in a year (is that an Earth year or a Neopian year?), and there's your answer.

well, as far as I can see this is a trick question. You say that it is an unrelated fact, but it is related in the end. So I hink that this is a trick. Plus, is it Neopia or Neovia? In one year according to my calculations, 1 alien can eat 12,614,400 kg. So I think that there is a lot more to this question than meets the eye, I will have to really think about this one. We are trying to figure how many years it will take for the aliens to eat one cubic kilometer of this planet, but I think that it is not even a year before they eat the whole planet.

Find the mass of the planet from its gravitational acceleration. You can find the volume of the planet by modeling as a sphere with a diameter of 2100 km. Find its density. Find out how much 1 million aliens eat every year (can be found from the number of how much one alien eats per minute). Find out how many years its takes to eat the mass contained in 1 cubic kilometer of this planet.
