i am a very "clean" young woman, especially when i have my period. but even after i take shower and clean myself well, i have a lingering dirty feeling down there. the feeling doesn't stay for very long but it still makes me uncomfortable. this feeling doesn't occur frequently, maybe a few times. and i don't always get this dirty feeling when i am on my period. what can i do/use? are there any home remedies? thank you very much .

Personal hygiene is a matter of presonal preference. i feel unclean esp after urination and BM. So I wash with soap and water after each elimination. I don't use tampons; it gives me the uncomfortable feeling. I use thin pads when I have my menstrual periods and I change that often.

And to make me feel fresh and clean; i spray this feminine hygiene deodorant of course; after a thorough personal hygiene. Also, i shave my pubic area for that total feeling of clean.

Try to assume a healthy attitude about menstruation. It's a curse that we women have to go thru each month. But it's a good way for the body to rid itself of toxins and impurities in the blood. You can use a little vinegar as a douche if you prefer. But try to use that feminine spray. and sanitary wipes. Make sure you change your panty daily and post shower. Spraying a little talc powder also help for freshness.

Is it a 'feeling' or a 'smell'? Do you have a discharge? These are all hormonal-related AND your senses of smell are heightened during your period.

AVOID douches and scented soaps as these will upset the balance of your vagina and make it worse. AVOID thong panties and panythose for the same reasons.

Do drink lots of water, eat yoghurt DAILY, change COTTON underwear and pads/tampons frequently.

This may help you. Don't worry - you are most likely the only one aware of anything out of the ordinary ...

Funny answer hunniebunny! But sorry, like your underarms, the vagina is a gland that needs to 'sweat' (hense, pubic hair to act as a blotter). Don't clog 'er up with aluminum chlorehexate (the stuff related to breast cancers).
