Because Jesse was the brother of the girls' deceased mother. Joey was not a relative, just a friend of Danny's.

Joey wasn't their uncle. He was a friend of the family. Jesse was their uncle.

He was not an uncle. Jesse was Danny's brother - n - law...hence the uncle part. Joey was Danny's best friend....so no relation.

joey wasn't an uncle. uncle jesse was danny's dead wife's brother therefor making him an uncle to the girls. but joey was just danny's best friend and not related.

uncle implies some sort of relationship...
jessie was danny tanner's brother in law...who moved in when his sister..danny's wife died..
joey was just the a sexual tag along dude that lived in the basement..cut it out indeed joey..
joey was danny's friend..therefore had to formal relations with the family..
unless danny was interested in dudes..but then I think he could have done better than joey

I know this has already been answered but I just had to answer because I can't believe I know this....
Joey was a childhood friend of Danny ( the father ) he came to live and help him raise his kids after Danny's wife ( Pam ) died in a car wreak. Jesse is Pam's brother and Dannys brother-in-law. ;-)

because he was not an uncle to the girls he was dannys friend from school and jesse is the brother of dannys wife but she died so they both moved in
