What can you use to describe Timbre? what sort of words?

For example when describing texture you can say its thin, or thick or rough, but what do you use for Timbre??

Shrill, warm, nails on chalk board sounding, rich, soothing, dry, scratchy, hypnotic, hollow, distinct, trebly, bassy, brassy, bluesy, twangy, and it's pronounced 'Tamber'. Helpful?
