Experiencing emotional states in dreams is dependent on the level of sleep that the indivdiual reaches. If you are a light sleeper, you may not enter REM sleep enough to remember your dreams and to have the same experience that others report.
When you dream, you see images. When you see images, you will experience the same emotions as if you were to see those same images while awake.

Yes. I've felt a wide range of emotions in dreams. Sometimes it's hard to shake even after I wake up & realize it wasn't real (especially feelings of fear or anger.)

That's basically all dreams are: just ideas, ranging from a visual image to the feeling of love. feels kinda odd.

of course! at least, for me, anyways.
i've felt saddened when something bad happens, or excited when something good happens... euphoric in some situations, despondent in others...
etc etc
and terror is an emotion -- have you ever had a nightmare?
