Before you start the car physically touch and adjust the rear view mirror. Turn your head completely around to check traffic. Keep both hands on the wheel for the complete time of the test.
Sounds funny, but you can fail even before you start the car.

Be sure to look in the rear view mirror while driving, make sure your parking brake isn't on when you start off, and, before hand, practice 3-point turns until you can do it without going on the curb while still getting close to the curb so that he/she can see you can handle the car well and can competently judge distances.

it really depends on if ur doing ur test to get ur learners plate or 'p' plate....well tahts what we have in uastralia anyway
for ur l's, study the book, and just keep testing urself when u see signs, matks on the ground etc..
as they say, practice makes perfect
