Would you jump right in and try to help the person in distress? Would you look around to see if anybody else was responding before you committed yourself to help? Would you be ticked because you had to stop something you were enjoying to help? Or would you try to pretend you didn't hear.

You are not gonna get a honest opinion about that. Truth be told everyone would like to think they would run over and help. What i have seen so far is people like to keep to themselfs or people are put in a state of shock. I honestly cannot tell you if i would or not untill the situation occurs. You only have a moment to make a decision and do any of you really KNOW what that decision would be?

I'd probably try to help unless I saw or thought that there someone who actually knew what to do was already helping.

Strangely, this is also the reason why some people have been mugged or beaten with a crowd around them, yet no one lifted a finger. Everyone was waiting for everyone else to do it.

In my case, I'm trained for certain emergencies but not others. I'll help where I can, or if I'm the only one there, do what must be done, but if there is already sufficient help I figure that I'll just be in the way.

If could help, I would. I have though, being too busy w/ own life passed by. Like a starnded motorist or such...Though ~ I have given many people (some I never even knew) rides home before, or I pick up things people drop. It is amazing how suprised people act when you help them... see, our world is lacking in compassion. It is awesome to try and regain faith in others!
If I saw a person in a bad way, accident etc.. I would yes ~ definately STOP ~ and I have. And I would be happy to be of some type of support by assisting.

I guess it depends. If its pitch black in the middle of the night, I would call the police i guess..not really a good idea to run there and help..
If its like a public fight, maybe in school, i guess it would depend. Its not always a great idea to jump into other peoples problems, unless it is someone you know..then you should definitly stick up for them =]
lastly, if its a friend or someone you know who wants to lets say..kill themself. You should definitely do something because they are your friend. And nothing says "im here for you" like a great big hug =P

This is only me, but I would jump right in and try to help, not because I'm one of those that like to be the hero, it's just that I don't like seeing people in trouble and try my best to help.

As long as it didn't put my life in danger I would immediately jump in and help. If it was a situation that could potentially end my life, I would call 911. If it was a child and the situation was dangerous I would call 911 and then I would probably end up immediately helping after that. ;)

In this day and age it's difficult to know when someone is crying wolf. If I new w/out a doubt they were truly in need of help I would help; otherwise I would call 911!

I would like to think that i would run right over and try to help. I can't stand to see people hurt or harmed, especially if i can do something to prevent it.

Run to see the type of help required, while dialing 911 on my cell phone.

Depends. Like if a person being robbed yelled for help, I'd help. But if a prep who broke a nail wailed for help, I'd tell her she's a wuss.
