The tank is 10 gallons and it is fairly planted with fake and real water plants.

Yes the guppies are freshwater fish and no it's not a good idea to mix them with goldfish. The goldfish you are talking about may be tiny now, but give them a year or so and they will be at least 6" long and will still be small for common goldfish.

Guppies are freshwater fish. But putting Goldfish and guppies together is not a good idea because Goldfish like water temp. A lot cooler than guppies. And Goldfish will get a lot bigger than a guppy As far as buying At walmart. I have brought a lot of fish there and they have lived just as long for me from there as they did from a pet store.

Yes, they are fresh water fish. I have two goldfish that are now about three inches long who have been in my aquarium with my guppies for a year. The goldfish are more afraid of the guppies than the guppies of them. Just remember that the goldfish will GROW really quickly, and so you need to allow enough room for them. They also make the water really dirty, really quick, as opposed to the guppies who are pretty clean.
The other answers made me laugh! Goldfish eat guppies? No way.

Yes, Guppies are freshwater. How big is the tank? How heavily planted? We have a feeder Goldfish (About 1in to 1 1/2in long) in our Platy tank for a bit. He's going to a 75G soon though. They could probably live together for a month at most (Depending on your tank size and plant amount) but not very long because Goldfish get huge. (Unless kept in too small of tanks that stunt growth and kill them before they even get to live 1/10th of their life.)

Both species are freshwater. The two species are not aggressive usually, but the goldfish will eat anything. Also, I don't recommend getting your goldfish at Walmart if you expect them to live very long. Try to find a specialty store in your area, something that just sells fish. Petco and Petsmart are NOT good alternatives. Goldfish can live a very long time (my friend has had one for at least 6 years) but usually they get killed of because a) They were poorly bred/taken care of at the pet store b) Their owners overfeed them.
