For myself, I created a system of studying on my own. Some soft classical music and in my own room. It's better to also relearn what you have been taught in class when you get home. Call it revision time. Understand more than memorising. That way you don't have to cramp everything when exams come near. It also helps to have a tutor if you're weak in a subject.

What are you studying?

Reading subject matter.
Taking notes.
Talk with someone about the subject matter.
Visualization.
The more you work with any subject the more you will learn.
