Many years ago my Grandfather told me to go west,I used to live 100 miles on the other side of Toronto, I now live in BC Canada, that was the best advice that anyone had given me, all my brothers and sisters, still live there, and I find that by living out here, I don't have them borrowing this and borrowing that, and never returning anything.

I was crying to my coach in high school about life issues when he gave me these magical words to live by "No one gives a damn!" At that moment, I realized that my problems are my own and that I should deal with them accordingly. Anyone who pours there problems on others seriously needs to hear these words. At the very least, it will stop them from crying, and at the most it will force them to fix problems themselves.
As for universal quotes I have always liked "holding the sword is not the same as making the cut."

I work in the mining industry. When I was first hired, I was with my trainer and started to panic about the quality of the work I was doing. He watched me melt down for only about 30 seconds then he put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Claire, always remember, it's only dirt." He was absolutely right, and when I worry about any aspect of my job, I do remember those words.

Actually it was given by my 9 yr old daughter the other day, The old saying, "Treat others the way you would want to be treated" (I was picking on my "slow" cat) ha!ha!
