i have a linksys router: WRT54G broadband router. i connect using my hp laptop wirelessly. now everytime someone calls my house or i call someone, the laptop's internet connnection doesnt work. my desktop which is connected to the linksys also, does work. i dont know what's the problem. can someone help me?

The problem is you have your phone to close to either the router or to the laptop. I am guessing your phone is a 2.4Ghz wireless phone and that is the same freq as your wireless network signal.
Move the phone as far away as you can......

Make sure you have dsl filters installed on line connected to the phone.

Do you have a cordless phone? If so, it may be interfering with your wireless connection.
