I have an employee that produce excellent work. The problem is that he's sick all the time, in the majority of the cases for allergies. Each month he takes at least 3 days for sick leave. Last years he consume all the sick days that he has. I'm happy with the person but I need the work done. What's your recommendation?

I'd sit him down and explain you cannot allow him to continue to take off as much time as he is.
He must either do something to get it taken care of, or you will have to replace him. The greatest worker in the world is useless if he doesn't show up for work.
Although you'd rather not, I have terminated employees for excessive absenteeism. It had to be done.
I'll bet there are days when you feel like crap but you stll go in, becuse that is your job.

I would sit down and talk with him in a non confrontational way and ask if there is something wrong and if there is anything you can do to help. If he isn't using more than his sick and/or vacation days there really isn't a lot you can do. Just explain the situation.
