Unless you've had other children you won't get milk until 2 to 3 days after birth. Your body will begin producing colostrum (aka first milk) a few days before delivery or shortly after. Colostrum has high concentrations of immunities and nutrients which is why it is so important. A few days after birth your 'real' milk comes in.
Breasts do not necessarily get larger when you breastfeed. They may feel larger or engorged, but do not always increase in physical size. However, severely engorged breasts can go up several cup sizes in the days after delivery. Nurse often AND express milk if necessary to make things more comfortable. After my second I went from a D cup to an F cup for several days. Ouch and ugh.

Milk does not are available till at last after the toddler arrives -- each and every so often 3-4 days after. Milk production is tormented by many things -- your well being, what U consume, how no longer person-friendly the toddler sucks, and how in many circumstances U feed. Early on U will produce extra effective than toddler desires, then issues will quiet down, and your physique will comply with the splendid quantity to your baby. Milk can dry up simply by rigidity, so consume nicely and get an excellent style of relax. if your milk ever slows right down to the place the toddler is hungry for all time, U can help convey it back as much as extra effective production by ingesting particular meals -- fantastically mushy cooked finished grain cereals like brown rice, millet and oats. U do no longer could drink an excellent style of water if U R getting an excellent style of nourishing soups and different mushy meals.

Many women's, myself included, breasts do not get any bigger until after they give birth and their milk comes in. Colostrum just doesn't take up much room.
Trust me though, it is there, there is enough, and you will be making more than you need when the time comes.
More than 99% of women have colostrum at least by 8 months pregnancy. Usually sooner. It is available at birth, and is more than enough to feed a baby that has a stomach that can hold a 1/2 tsp at most.

Breast size varies for each women. Your coloustrum will come in just after the baby is born. They say that's all the baby needs at first but I've seen several babies (including my own) who were starving and my colostrum wasnt enough. Your real milk will come in about 3-4 days after the birth.
If immediately after birth you feel the colostrum isnt enough (they usualy sleep alot ni the first few days anyway, so nurse on demand to help speed the production fo milk. YOur breasts will only make what they'er asked to make!) You can ask the hospital for a starter SNS kit and some formula. IF you feel the baby isnt getting enough milk at first (TALK to the PED and lactation nurses first!) You can attach the SNS (Supplemental nursing system--the nurses will know what u mean) to your breast and fill it with a bit of formula. This gives the baby a taste of something and stimulates your milk. But do this ONLY if you and the doc feel the baby isnt getting enough milk, u dont wnat the baby wanting formula from the get go if u plan to nurse. Just nurse on demand and follow your body. It iwll be hard at first but is doable!!

your actual breastmilk comes down a day or two after yu give birth right now your breast have a watery substance called culostrum wich is full of vitamins that your baby will need that is why it is important for you to nurse him or her right after birth. dont worry about not having big breast sometimes it doesn't show untill the last few days of your pregnancy beside they'll get big right after you have your baby and they will hurt to so what you can do is get some cabbage leaves freeze them and put them on your breast oh you might want to buy nursing pads now they do come in handy.

For some women, they don't get anything until a day or two after delivery. Your baby does not need anything to eat in the first 24 to 48 hours and your body will make colostrum to give the baby a vitamin and antibody boost. 3-5 days after delivery you will start to make milk. You not see a drop until after the birth or it may start at anytime. I am an early leaker but it also increases my risk for preterm labor. It will be fine. You should ask your doctor and he/she will tell you the same thing. You are entering the hard part, the waiting and worrying and feeling so ready but you can't do anything but wait. Try not to drive yourself too crazy.

The milks in there, some peoples breasts don't swell until after the baby begins nursing....Some women's never do...If yours don't consider yourself lucky, I'd rather have my old smaller boobs than the heavy ones with stretch marks.....PS I know this is TMI but there not as "perky" as they use to be either!

My boobs stayed the same size my whole pregnancy. I didn't get milk in, until my son was 2 wks and was already hooked on the bottle. My breasts got really engorged and within 4 days went back to normal, since i chose not to breastfeed since he was already good with the bottle. Sometimes you will get it before baby comes, most the time after. Sometimes it takes days before it comes in after you give birth.
